Dear Colleagues:
As Asian Americans and psychologists, we have been individually
and collectively
impacted by the enormous tragedy that has struck parts of South
Asia. The
overwhelming devastation caused by the recent earthquake and
resulting tsunamis
has been shocking and painful. We extend our concern for those
whose families
have been affected by this disaster.
Our executive committee is in discussions as to the types of
assistance we can
offer. While each of our members have decided to respond to this
human tragedy
in her or his own way, we have decided as an association to
serve as an
information resource to our members as well as other
psychologists and citizens
who have inquired about how they can help. Given below is a list
of relief
organizations and other resources that have been compiled by
several of our
members for those interested in making donations or offering
other assistance.
With best regards,
Frederick Leong, AAPA President
